The Town of Newburgh Planning Board at its June 4, 2026 meeting approved three routine but technical matters: an amended site plan for Christian Friends Welcome Assembly Church, a six‑month extension for the Longview Farms subdivision, and a reaffirmation of a clearing and grading permit for 3 Mariners Court with additional conditions.
For Christian Friends Welcome Assembly Church (7 D'Alfonso Road, project 26-03), the board declared a SEQRA negative declaration and approved the amended site plan after County Planning's section 239 review returned a local determination and staff confirmed the project contains only interior changes. Planning counsel noted only the activities described in the application are permitted; payment of fees and building permits remain required.
Longview Farms (project 06-39) received a six-month extension from June 15 through Dec. 15, 2026, to allow the applicant to post required securities, update stormwater documentation and file final maps. MHE Engineering and staff emphasized that building or construction before posting securities is at the applicant's risk and that a pre-construction meeting and completion documentation will be required.
On 3 Mariners Court (project 24-35), the board reaffirmed a prior negative declaration, waived an additional public hearing, and required outstanding technical steps before final resolution. Code Compliance said a stop-work order remains in place and that the retaining wall will require a licensed engineer's design, third‑party inspections and certification. MHE asked for documentation of DEC signoff on eagle/ESA issues and for limits-of-disturbance fencing to be installed to keep disturbance under one acre.
All motions passed by recorded roll-call votes. Board members and staff said outstanding engineering comments, building-permit conditions and confirmation from regulatory agencies must be satisfied before final permits are issued.
