Poseyville approves Posey County Unified Development Ordinances with two local amendments

At its March 31 meeting the Poseyville Town Council passed the Posey County Unified Development Ordinances on second reading with two amendments proposed by the town. Council Member Randall Rankin moved to pass the ordinances with Poseyville’s amendments; Council President Justin Rutledge seconded. Roll-call votes recorded: Justin Rutledge (yes), Randall Rankin (yes); the motion carried.
The two amendments the council adopted were: (1) change the definition of impervious surface cover back to the town’s original wording so it applies only to structures under cover and not to pavement or gravel; and (2) prohibit recreational vehicles (RVs) inside manufactured home parks. President Rutledge opened a public hearing on the ordinances (after a first reading March 10) and received no public comment before closing the hearing.
Council members did not record further changes to zoning text during the meeting. The council confirmed its next meeting for April 14, 2026.
