Mayor Christopher Devane told the Board that County Legislator Scott Strauss presented a $500,000 check to the village for the Marcus Christ Community Center.
Devane said the village met with the project architect and expects the center to open in early 2026. He added the village is planning an opening that will include a fundraiser for the Tunnel to Towers Foundation. Construction updates reported earlier in the meeting noted recent concrete pours and the start of wall and steel work; trustees were told that the village expects construction completion targeted for March 2026.
The mayor thanked department heads for managing multiple construction projects and grant-funded work across the village. No formal budget action or change in funding terms was recorded in the minutes; the presentation of the county check was reported as part of the mayor’s updates.
