Gay council accepts financial documents, declines parade participation and schedules sign work session

During the Nov. 11 Town of Gay meeting, the clerk explained the General Report appears in a slightly different format to address an item from the town's audit response to the Georgia Department of Audits and Accounts. Council member Askvig moved to accept the financial documents; Council member Keith seconded and the vote was unanimous.
The council also considered participation in the Woodbury Christmas Parade and concluded the town would not participate; private companies or residents remain free to enter on their own.
Separately, Council member Watts requested a work session at 6:00 p.m. on Dec. 9, 2024 to discuss permitting for signs immediately before the regular council meeting; all members agreed to the date and time. The meeting adjourned at 8:00 p.m. by unanimous motion.
