The Greencastle Community School Corporation Board of School Trustees unanimously approved the district’s Capital Projects Plan, School Bus Replacement Plan and associated 2026 budget resolutions at a regular meeting held Oct. 27 at district central office.
Board President Ed Wilson called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. Superintendent Jeff Gibboney recommended adoption of the three budget‑related items and noted that the Putnam County Council had approved the district’s 2026 budget and additional appropriations the prior week. Member Kathryn Dory moved to adopt the plans and budget resolutions; Member Megan Inman seconded the motion, which carried unanimously.
The approval followed presentation of the consent agenda, which included the Sept. 22 regular meeting minutes, payroll and claims for two payroll cycles and a mini payroll (listed check and claim ranges), and the financial reports for September 2025 showing beginning balances, revenue, expenditures and ending balances. Finance Director Kellie Romer presented the claims and recommended payment. Member Isaac Case moved to approve the consent agenda; Member Kathryn Dory seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
Personnel items approved as part of the consent agenda included the resignation of an instructional assistant at Tzouanakis Intermediate effective Oct. 31, 2025; hiring and status changes that the board approved included a homebound instruction teacher assignment for Jorden Froderman (effective Sept. 29, 2025–May 20, 2026), an FMLA approval for Megan Miller (Nov. 14, 2025–Feb. 9, 2026), substitutes and long‑term substitutes, a transfer of a classified employee to substitute bus driver at the transportation center, and multiple extracurricular coach and volunteer coach hires across Greencastle High School and middle schools.
The board also accepted donations recommended by Superintendent Gibboney. Gifts approved included $22,320 from Putnam County Hospital to Greencastle High School, $6,175 from RB! Parents Club to Greencastle High School athletics, $500 from Attic Selfstor to the GHS/GMS FFA program, and distributions from the Mary Allison Children’s Trust to the schools ($3,500 to Greencastle High School, $1,000 to Greencastle Middle School and $1,900 to Deer Meadow Primary). Board members voted to accept the donations unanimously.
At the meeting Assistant Superintendent Rebecca McPherson reviewed the second draft of the Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) accountability materials and highlighted recent music program and extracurricular successes. Superintendent Gibboney provided updates on facility work at Deer Meadow Primary and several student athletic and academic achievements.
The board adjourned at 6:35 p.m. on a motion from Member Jimmy Beasley and second from Member Isaac Case.
