The Statham City Council approved the Nov. 19, 2024 meeting minutes by a 5–0 vote early in the Dec. 3 meeting. City staff delivered routine department reports: Karine Broom presented the finance report, Lt. Hood delivered the police report, and Public Works Director Brett Day gave the public works report. Mayor Krause provided a mayoral report and councilmembers offered committee updates for Tree & Beautification and Statham Events.
During the work session the council listed several items for discussion including an Arbor Day proclamation, Tree Committee 2025–26 board appointments, American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds, an ordinance amending Section 12‑2, an ordinance establishing financial institution business regulations, and discussion of a moratorium on developments. Two residents—Gary Venable and Joe Piper—spoke during citizen input about items on the work session agenda. The meeting adjourned at 7:48 p.m.
