The Statham City Council voted 4-0 Dec. 30 to approve a distance waiver permit allowing Fajita Mex Grill, located at 1916 Railroad Street in Statham, to sell alcohol.
Councilmember Penn moved to approve the application and Councilmember Terilli seconded; Councilmembers Terilli, Patterson, Penn and Burnette voted yes, and Councilmember Bogenrieder was recorded as absent. The vote followed a brief public hearing that produced no proponents or opponents for the application.
Mayor Krause called the special call meeting to order at 3:00 p.m. City Attorney Jody Campbell and City Clerk Nicole Sapp were present. Councilmember Patterson had moved to open the public hearing at 3:01 p.m.; after the hearing record showed no public testimony, Councilmember Terilli moved to exit the hearing at 3:01 p.m.
With the permit approved, the council took a final procedural vote to adjourn; Councilmember Penn moved to adjourn, Councilmember Patterson seconded, and the motion passed 4-0. The meeting was adjourned at 3:02 p.m.
