White City Council approves accounting system, security cameras and other routine purchases; several items tabled

On motions that passed unanimously (5-0), the council approved purchase of Aclarian accounting software for $96,544 with payment options, accepted a bid from Southern Machine to install an exhaust fan in the evidence room ($1,750), and authorized installation of CCTV cameras at City Hall and the Public Works building (Public Works cameras to be solar powered; City Hall to integrate with the existing Rottweiler system).
Mayor Curtis Powell also asked to add a resolution authorizing him to sign the Bartow County Emergency Response Plan; Councilmember Stephanie Nichelson moved to add the item, the council approved adding it to the agenda, and later the council approved the resolution 5-0. The agenda item was described in the meeting as the same plan produced by Bartow County.
Council moved to table several items: an intergovernmental agreement (IGA) with Bartow County for water service was tabled until the next meeting; a proposal from Lara J Designs for a new website ($10,850) to comply with HB447 reporting requirements was tabled until May; approval to surplus a trash truck and trash cans was tabled until July; and repair of the city clock (estimated parts $850, labor $600, lift $500) was tabled with no set date.
Council entered an executive session at 7:40 p.m. to discuss disposition of property at 75 Richards Rd and returned at 8:43 p.m.; the mayor stated no votes were taken during executive session. The meeting adjourned at 8:59 p.m.
Next procedural steps include staff returning with detailed cost estimates for Bartow County water by the next meeting.
