The Whigham City Council unanimously approved a beer-and-wine alcohol license for Bucha Food Mart, doing business as Huds5, at its Oct. 14 meeting.
City Clerk Rachel Jenson told the council the new owners had satisfied the requirements set forth in the City of Whigham alcohol ordinance. Mayor Pro Tem Jim Sellers moved to approve the license and Council member Robert Porter seconded; all members present voted in favor.
The decision followed a brief public hearing during which Mayor Trey Gainous opened the matter for council consideration. The council did not record any public opposition during the hearing.
The license approval was listed on the meeting agenda and was adopted by unanimous vote. The council did not attach special conditions to the approval at the time of the vote.
