White City council approves budget amendments, reinvests maturing CDs and OKs two patrol vehicles

City Clerk Robin Cochran told the council the General Fund required an $18,677 amendment and that Water/Sewer needs a $211,303 increase for maintenance, engineering and incoming developments. Cochran also reported the Governing Body, Municipal Court and Police Department were under budget by $9,245, $8,547 and $40,747 respectively.
Councilmember Jean Swank moved to approve the budget amendments, Councilmember Stephanie Nichelson seconded, and the motion passed 5-0.
Cochran reported three CDs that matured on Jan. 21, 2026 (approximately $81,985.09; $24,825.28; $24,387.02) and recommended reinvesting them in six-month instruments at a rate of 3.76%. The council approved reinvestment 5-0. Cochran also said the city held a $44,834.20 Georgia 1 Fund check for which no further information had yet been provided; the council voted 5-0 to place that check into a six-month CD at 3.76% with the stipulation that it would be moved to the Georgia 1 Fund when eligible.
Police Chief Brad Loyd requested purchase of two patrol vehicles to be paid from 2026 SPLOST funds. The council approved purchase of two Chevy Silverados from Hardy Ford for $95,600 and approved Monster Customs for the custom outfitting; both motions passed 5-0.
No dissenting votes were recorded. The council concluded with mayor and council comments and adjourned at 7:33 p.m.
