White City council adopts amended alcohol ordinance and approves fee schedule

At its Feb. 2 meeting the White City Council held the second reading and public hearing on an amendment to the city's alcohol ordinance covering packaged sales and on-premises consumption. Mayor Curtis Powell opened the public portion; no speakers came forward.
Councilmember Jean Swank moved to adopt the amended ordinance, Councilmember Karissa Noland seconded, and the council approved the measure 5-0. Mayor Powell read that the amendment would be effective upon adoption.
The council then considered a fee schedule tied to the amended alcohol and beverage ordinance. Councilmember Stephanie Nichelson moved to approve the fee schedule; Jean Swank seconded and the motion carried 5-0.
No public comment or dissenting votes were recorded. The council did not discuss modifications to the substance of the ordinance at the Feb. 2 meeting; the actions taken were formal adoption of the amendment and approval of the fees.
