Police introduce new officer; department to use SPLOST funds for vehicle purchases

Chief Lowe also said he is purchasing police vehicles and a truck for the fire department using SPLOST funds and that one decommissioned police car will be transferred to Main Street. Captain Heather Johnson announced that Deputy Chief Karl Zimmer will retire next month and that Fire Chief Keith Eisele is arranging a date to present Zimmer with a retirement gift.
No formal personnel actions were taken at the meeting; the items were informational and administrative.
