Gray Main Street program wins accreditation; downtown leasing and renovations progress

Main Street Director Ashley Roberson told the Mayor and Council on May 19 that Main Street’s 2024 annual assessment resulted in accreditation from Main Street America and Georgia Main Street. Roberson also presented a 2024 downtown community impact report.
Roberson reported that suites 5 and 6 at 102 E Clinton have been rented and that renovations at that address are about 50% complete. She said Mayor Barbee asked her to contact the Georgia Municipal Association (GMA) about Gray hosting a District 6 fall meeting, and she noted Georgia Academy Economic Development training scheduled for Aug. 12, 2025.
Roberson framed the accreditation and leasing as indicators of downtown momentum; she did not request immediate council action at the May 19 meeting.
