Bolton Fire Commission: new truck ET 134 inspected, to be displayed Dec. 9

Chief Bruce Dixon said the Bolton Fire Department’s new firetruck, Engine/Tender 134, is nearing delivery after a departmental inspection in Wisconsin and final work in Connecticut. The commission heard the truck committee provided a punch list that Pierce addressed overnight.
The update was given at the Nov. 27 Bolton Fire Commission meeting. Dixon reported that Pierce ‘‘has done an excellent job’’ on construction and quality, and that the vehicle will be on display at the department’s Christmas dinner on Dec. 9, 2023. He said the final cost came in very close to his 2015 estimate of $810,000.
The truck committee traveled to Wisconsin to complete the inspection; the vehicle subsequently returned to Connecticut for a few final details. The commission did not record any formal vote related to the truck at the Nov. 27 meeting.
The new apparatus’ near-final status follows months of committee review. The commission’s next meeting is scheduled for Dec. 11, 2023.
