The Bolton Fire Commission voted unanimously April 24 to accept the Bolton Volunteer Fire Department’s nominations of Bruce Dixon as Fire Chief and Michael Eremita as Deputy Fire Chief for the coming year.
The motion to accept the nominations was moved by Commissioner Robert Langton and seconded by Commissioner Elizabeth Malone and was recorded as unanimous (VU). The commission noted it had not yet received a formal letter from the Bolton Volunteer Fire Department but acted based on the department’s minutes.
The commission also approved and adopted a Fire Chief job description to be used for any future chief hires and appointments. Robert Langton moved the motion to adopt the job description and Elizabeth Malone seconded; that motion likewise passed unanimously.
Chairman John Morianos said he is interested in reappointment to the commission; Board Clerk Janet K. Assard will forward a reappointment letter to the Board of Selectmen. The commission scheduled its next regular meeting for May 22, 2023 and adjourned at 7:42 p.m.
