Bolton Fire Commission: Chief reports 51 calls last month; Forestry 134 apparatus delayed until August

The Bolton Fire Commission met on May 23, 2022, at the Bolton Fire House and via Zoom. Fire Commission chairman John Morianos called the session to order at 7:00 P.M.
Fire Chief Bruce Dixon told the commission the department responded to 51 calls in the previous month, including medical calls, motor-vehicle accidents and two motorcycle crashes. Dixon said the department is addressing notifications received after a voluntary OSHA consultation and is working to resolve those issues. He also reported that the Forestry 134 apparatus remains in Massachusetts awaiting some body components; the minutes state the fire pump and tank are expected and the vehicle should be delivered in August.
Deputy Fire Marshal Bill Call reported two burn permits had been issued and inspected since the last meeting. Call listed recent inspections at Saint George Church, Saint Maurice Church, Bolton Congregational Church and a four-unit property at 666 Boston Turnpike, which the minutes say completes inspections of all apartments in town. A fire-door inspection was also recorded at 14 Carpenter Road.
The minutes record that the Strawberry Festival will be held in June and that James Rupert will meet with Chief Dixon and the Public Safety Committee to coordinate duties. No correspondence, old business or new business items were listed in the minutes.
The commission moved to approve the minutes as recorded (motion shown in the minutes as "CM/DM"); the minutes list the date for the minutes as "25, 2022," and do not specify the month. The minutes show a unanimous vote (V.U.). The meeting also recorded a motion to adjourn (listed in the minutes as "JM/RL") and notes the meeting ended at 7:32 P.M. with a unanimous vote.
