The Thomaston City Historic Preservation Commission on Jan. 5 voted to table a Certificate of Appropriateness request from Hayley's Bath & Body for window signage and door repainting at 202 W. Main Street.
Business owner Adarian Cherry attended the meeting to request signs on two windows and new door painting and signage. Commissioners and staff said there was confusion over the exact door logo and how it related to the products sold on-site. Taylor J. Smith, Thomaston City Economic Development Director, suggested connecting Mr. Cherry with the University of Georgia Small Business Center to assist with business planning and branding; both the owner and the commission agreed this would be helpful.
Mr. Ted Kandler moved to table the item until the commission's Feb. 2 meeting so the owner can refine the logo and branding with support; Mrs. Alison Uphold seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. The item will return to the Feb. 2 agenda with any amended materials.
