Resident asks Toccoa to limit heavy truck traffic on King Street

At the Sept. 8 Toccoa City Commission meeting, Tametricus Reese of 146 King Street urged the commission to install a "No Truck" sign on her street. Reese told the commission there is "a substantial amount of traffic on King Street due to the business previously owned by Scott Elmer," and said heavy vehicles including dump trucks and 18-wheelers are using the roadway, "tearing up the road" and leaving trash and odors that have made it difficult for residents to sit on their porches.
Reese asked the commission to install signage to prevent heavy trucks from using that block of King Street. The minutes record the comment as part of public comments but do not record a response from the commission or a staff directive or scheduled follow-up.
