Residents press Woodmoor board on pond dredging, 5G towers, trails and fencing

Residents used the association’s question‑and‑answer period at the Woodmoor Improvement Association annual meeting to raise several local concerns, including dredging Wild Duck Pond, possible cell towers, a trail extension and fencing rules.

A resident asked if and when Wild Duck Pond could be dredged to remove cattails. Director Cutler spoke with the resident after the meeting and said he will get back to him after checking with several other agencies to determine whether dredging is feasible.

Another resident expressed concern about 5G and potential cell towers in the area. The meeting minutes state that "the WIA Board is not entertaining the idea of cell towers in Woodmoor" at this time.

A South Woodmoor resident asked why the association did not extend the trail on The Preserve behind homes on Bowstring. The board said that when WOSC, LLC donated the property, a trail extension behind those homes was not part of the donation plan and it is currently not included in improvement plans.

On fencing, a resident asked why other types of fencing are not allowed from a Firewise perspective. The board said it seeks to maintain the open appearance of split‑rail and dowel fencing; however, it has permitted owners to place a metal gate closest to the home to break continuity between the wooden fence and the house.

A resident of The Dunes raised concerns about his sub‑association and was directed to speak with directors after the meeting for follow up. The minutes record follow‑up commitments but do not provide deadlines or further detail in the meeting text.
