Union City to begin TA sidewalk project; selects county‑appointed engineer for school crossing study

Borough Manager Cindy Wells told the council that the TA Set‑Aside sidewalk project will begin Monday, July 15, and that a separate feasibility study for a proposed school pedestrian crossing was approved. Council agreed to use WRA, LLP, the county’s appointed engineer, to perform engineering work for the crossing.
Wells also reminded council of a virtual South County EMS study meeting on July 11 and other community items: an ECBA meeting July 17 (service awards to be presented to Matt Joyce), the LECOM Health/Corry Memorial Hospital Golf Classic on Sept. 11, and a July 30 meeting to present health insurance plans to council members at the Municipal Authority. No contract amounts or engineering fees for the school crossing were recorded in the minutes.
Council did not take final votes on additional actions tied to these items at the July 9 meeting beyond selecting WRA, LLP as the engineer for the feasibility study.
