Hogansville may sell three surplus police vehicles to fund leased replacements

During the Jan. 6 work session City Manager Lisa E. Kelly reported that the Police Department has three upfitted fleet vehicles that could be sold, and that the City of Greenville has expressed interest in purchasing them.
Staff said selling the vehicles as-is would generate proceeds that could provide the Police Department with funds to lease new vehicles rather than delaying replacements until the next budget year. The work session minutes state selling the vehicles "would give the Police Department the funds to go ahead and lease the new vehicles that they were having to hold off until next budget year."
Council agreed to place the surplus-vehicle sale on the Regular Meeting agenda for action tonight. Any sale must follow procurement and disposal policies and be approved by the council in the Regular Meeting minutes.
