Hull council continues discussion of possible rezoning on Highway 72; health department review may be required

Under old business on May 28 the Hull Mayor and Council discussed a potential rezoning of a small tract of land on Highway 72.
City Attorney Danny Love outlined the requirements a landowner would need to satisfy in order to re-zone the tract and then pursue a variance. Love told the council that the Health Department would need to be involved first to determine whether the tract could meet health-inspection requirements; if the tract cannot pass those requirements, a re-zoning and variance might not be possible.
Mayor John Barber will advise the landowner of the council's current status and next steps. No motion or formal action on rezoning was recorded at this meeting.
