Hull council adopts revised fee list; approves minutes, financials and holiday decorations

At its Oct. 23 meeting the Hull Mayor and Council approved several routine administrative items, including a revised city Fee List and funding for holiday decorations.
The council unanimously adopted a proposed revised Fee List after Attorney Danny Love presented it. The Fee List was approved on a motion by Council Member Paige Phillips, seconded by Mike McElroy, and the minutes record an effective date of Oct. 23, 2025. The council also unanimously approved the minutes of the September meeting (motion by Mike McElroy, second by Steven Hollingsworth) and the financial reports (motion by Yvonne Davenport, second by Paige Phillips).
On holiday preparations, Mayor John Barber raised purchasing additional Christmas decorations and the possibility of an official tree lighting. The council authorized spending up to $1,500 for decorations (motion by Paige Phillips, second by Mike McElroy, unanimously approved), agreed to meet on Nov. 22 at 10:00 a.m. to decorate, and scheduled a tree lighting for Dec. 2 at 6:30 p.m.
Under old business Attorney Love presented a draft revised lease with the Fire Department; Mayor Barber will provide a copy to Chief Austin and the lease will be discussed again at the November meeting. Mayor Barber also reported that Angie's Place had been sold to Joe Alewine. The council granted Mr. Lynn Shedd permission to secure business cards and invoice the city for reimbursement. The meeting was adjourned after a motion by Mike McElroy and a second by Steven Hollingsworth.
Next steps: the Fire Department lease will return to the council agenda in November for further discussion.
