The board approved a contract renewal with Indiana Landmarks that had been tabled previously and accepted annual sidewalk/vendor renewals for six downtown businesses through Oct. 31.
The board also approved a 2026 CCMG (Community Crossings Matching Grant) design and bid agreement with First Group Engineers — staff said the firm helped assemble a $43,000 design application and will prepare bid documents so the city can advertise work once INDOT funding is confirmed.
A last‑minute film‑shoot request for downtown (including in front of Montego Bay and daytime cemetery filming) was added to the agenda and approved for March 22–25; the board reminded the applicant to coordinate closely with police and to avoid interfering with emergency access.
On an unsafe‑building matter (Act 312) involving a recently purchased property that previously had a demolition order for only a garage, staff reported the owner had pulled permits but a stop‑work order remains while plumbing issues are resolved. The board voted to set the unsafe‑building hearing over to April 1 to permit staff to verify substantial compliance.
Finally, the board heard appeals of plan‑commission decisions (including a challenged fill permit tied to a proposed data center). Per staff recommendation, determinations on those appeals were deferred and are scheduled for the next works meeting; petitioners will receive written determinations.
