At the Hobart City Redevelopment Authority meeting, the board voted to grant a six-month extension to the petitioner for petition 23-12, a proposed 67-lot subdivision known as Bickley Hollow.
The petitioner told commissioners the housing market has recovered since the last appearance and that his company has returned to roughly 45 presales across its operations. He said the developer had engaged accounting/finance advisor Baker Tilly and contributed about $156,000 to the city process and that the next step is to purchase the property outright. "We're ready to get going," the petitioner said, asking the commission to allow more time to complete prerequisites.
Commissioner Marco Rodriguez (economic development) recommended offering a one-year extension to accommodate required planning review and council scheduling, but other commissioners favored a six-month extension with the option for the petitioner to return if more time is needed. A motion to grant a six-month extension carried on voice vote.
The extension allows the petitioner to continue design and financing work; the petitioner will report back at the next scheduled planning meeting or earlier if milestones are reached.
