At the Oct. 15 meeting the Franklin City Council approved a temporary appointment for city management during City Manager Sonny Lewis’s planned absence.
City Manager Lewis asked council to appoint an Acting City Manager from Oct. 16 through Oct. 26, 2018 while he is out of town. The council voted with six affirmative votes to approve the appointment; Mayor Todd Hall was absent.
Later in the meeting Mr. Denny Centers moved, and Mr. Michael Aldridge seconded, to enter executive session to consider the appointment, employment and/or compensation of a public employee or official regarding the Finance Director. Council voted to enter executive session at approximately 6:25 p.m.; Vice Mayor Brent Centers and members of council entered executive session. The meeting reconvened and adjourned with no action taken reported in the public minutes.
Council also noted the upcoming Fall Fest (Oct. 26–27) in the City Manager’s report. No formal personnel actions related to the Finance Director were disclosed after the executive session.
