County officials report election canvass, tax-sale deadline and budget deadlines at supervisors meeting

During department reports on June 8, County Auditor David Troester said the June 2 primary was administered and that the official canvass of votes was scheduled for June 9. County Treasurer Dustin Johnson reported that the annual tax sale is scheduled for June 15 and reminded property owners that delinquent taxes may be paid through the close of business on June 12 to avoid inclusion in the sale.
County Budget Director Amber Shepherd said the county cost allocation plan had been distributed and that commitment-of-funds requests are due by June 12; she also reported that fieldwork for the FY2026 audit has begun remotely and that on-site audit work is scheduled for August. Human Resources reported most spring hiring is complete and noted anticipated staffing requests for the Sheriff’s Office that were previously approved but deferred to FY2027.
