Fort Recovery council adopts tax amounts and local government fund resolution

The Village of Fort Recovery Council on Sept. 15 adopted two fiscal resolutions setting tax amounts and accepting the Local Government Fund allocation.
Council first moved and voted to suspend the rules and pass RES 2025-23, accepting the amounts and rates determined by the budget commission and authorizing the necessary tax levies. Council then moved to suspend rules and pass RES 2025-24 to accept the Local Government Fund amount and rate. Both measures passed unanimously after motions by Councilman Scott Pearson and passage motions by Greg Schmitz and Al Post, respectively.
Roberta Staugler, who presented the revenue figures, told council the Local Government Fund revenue is expected to increase by about $2,000 and the total levy revenue will increase by approximately $7,500 (which she described as “about $1,500 each” per levy). The resolutions were declared emergencies to facilitate timely certification to the county auditor.
Council did not change levy rates at this meeting; the resolutions accept the amounts determined by the county budget commission and authorize certification to the county auditor for collection and distribution.
