During a continued first hearing on County Ditch No. 2154 (Schrock) March 10, county staff reported that affected landowners have agreed to complete the ditch improvement privately rather than pursue the petition route.
"Those affected land owners have signed the mutual agreement to move forward with completing the project outside of the petition process," Lincoln said on the record and asked the commissioners to sign the mutual agreement when completed. The board approved a continuance of the first hearing to give the landowners time to complete the project and entered into Mutual Agreement 2026-29 to document that path forward. Both resolutions (2026-175 and 2026-176) passed by recorded motion, 2-0.
The continued hearing is scheduled for June 2, 2026 at 9:15 a.m., giving landowners 60 days to carry out the agreement according to the county engineer's specifications. The board recorded that the improvement is necessary and that costs and assessments have been calculated per the engineer's specifications; the transcript does not include contested testimony at this session.
