Fort Recovery council expands mutual aid, passes budget moves and approves administrator residency ordinance

The Fort Recovery Village Council unanimously expanded its mutual-aid emergency agreement to include Celina and passed two routine budget measures during its Feb. 16 regular meeting.
Mayor Dave Kaup called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. and the council approved the Feb. 2 meeting minutes. During the public-safety portion of the agenda, Jared Laux briefed the council on the mutual-aid agreement that previously included St. Henry, Coldwater and Rockford; Luke Knapke moved to approve adding Celina and Scott Pearson seconded. The motion carried on a unanimous vote.
The council also voted to adopt RES 2026-11 to amend appropriations and RES 2026-12 to transfer funds from the General Fund to the Sewer Improvement Fund. Motions to suspend the rules and pass each resolution were made and approved by unanimous votes. Later in the meeting the council completed the third and final reading and passage of ORD 2026-01, approving the village administrator’s residency outside village limits; the ordinance passed unanimously.
