The Coconino County Accommodation School District Governing Board on June 12 adopted several policy items: an Electronic Device Policy and implementation plan to comply with Arizona Revised Statute 15-120.05, a Proposed Instructional Time Model, and the district's designated Impact Aid Survey Date for 2025–2026.
Chief Education Officer Dave Dirksen reviewed the Electronic Device Policy and an implementation plan the district intends to add to the Parent and Family Student Handbooks. He explained the revised state statute restricts student access to electronic devices to promote an instructional environment in classrooms. The board approved the plan and directed staff to include implementation details in the handbooks and distribute them to parents.
The board also approved the Proposed Instructional Time Model, which Mr. Dirksen had presented at a prior public hearing, and set Sept. 10, 2025 as the district's Impact Aid Survey Date to determine student eligibility for Impact Aid funding. Mr. Dirksen said he is rewriting the district's Indian Policies and Procedures and will present those revisions at the September meeting.
The meeting record does not list recorded objections or a roll-call vote for these approvals.
