The Governing Board of the Coconino County Accommodation School District on April 10 approved a slate of administrative and personnel actions for the 2025–26 school year, including district calendars, employee contracts and multiple payroll and accounts-payable vouchers.
President Cheryl Mango-Paget recorded approval of the 2025–26 calendars for Ponderosa High School, Tse' Yaato' High School, the juvenile detention center and staff calendars. The board also accepted the resignation of part-time counselor Rebecca McCormick, approved the appointment of volunteer instructor Kim Thien Nguyen to lead a Forging Youth Resilience (FYR) fitness program at Ponderosa, and approved hiring Cynthia Rohrback as a substitute teacher at Tse' Yaato'.
Chief Education Officer Dave Dirksen told the board that FY26 employee contracts include pay raises for all employees; the transcript records that Ms. Tutay read the list of employees receiving contracts but does not specify raise amounts. The board approved the FY26 contracts as presented.
Director of Business Services Erin Tutay reported the FY24 USFR Compliance Questionnaire showed 14 deficiencies compared with 23 the previous year; she said corrections are in progress and the board approved acceptance of the questionnaire.
The board also approved the Gifted Education Scope & Sequence required by the Arizona Department of Education for CCASD and approved payroll and accounts-payable vouchers. Payroll vouchers recorded in the minutes were Voucher #16 for $68,731.54, Voucher #18 for $68,993.79 and Voucher #19 for $68,063.60. Accounts payable vouchers listed were #2539 for $3,500.64; #2540 for $9,177.36; #2541 for $5,940.85; #2542 for $9,466.80; #2543 for $20,216.59; and #2544 for $5,608.00.
Votes at a glance — the minutes record that President Cheryl Mango-Paget "approved" each listed action; the transcript does not include a formal roll-call vote tally or recorded second for these motions.
What’s next: the board set future agenda items including potential NREL contracts for May, public hearings on the Instructional Time Model on May 8 and at the June meeting, and a future annual review of Indian Policies and Procedures for impact aid in August or September.
