Glenwillow authorizes Bond Street sewer plans, OKs Pettibone entry and accepts DL Smith change order

The Village of Glenwillow Council on Nov. 5 authorized engineering work and bidding for a suite of local infrastructure projects and accepted a final change order reducing the DL Smith Cochran Road Reconstruction contract.
Council voted unanimously to prepare plans and specifications for the Bond Street Sewer and Stream Improvements Project and authorized the Director of Finance to advertise for bids (motions carried 6-0; preparation motion by Tony DeCarlo, second by Barb DiBacco). The actions instruct staff to move the project into the design and procurement phase.
Separately, Council retroactively authorized a Right of Entry Agreement for property at 29645 Pettibone Road (permanent parcels 991-22-023 and 991-22-082) to allow storm-sewer work; Engineer Mike Henry said storm-sewer improvements on Pettibone will start Nov. 17 and be completed by year-end.
Council also accepted Final Change Order No. 1 to the contract with DL Smith Concrete LLC on the Cochran Road Reconstruction Phase II Project, which Engineer/Service Director Mike Henry described as a $40,000 reduction to the contract price.
All related resolutions and change orders were approved 6-0 with no recorded nays or abstentions. Council additionally approved a vendor for senior snowplow services and authorized personnel and engineering appointments necessary to advance the projects.
Next steps for the Bond Street project include finalizing plans, advertising for contractor bids and returning to Council with bid results and a recommendation for contract award; schedule and budget details will be presented to Council as procurement moves forward.
