Committee approves Ash Sports Bar cabaret license contingent on amended application at council

The License and Permit Committee approved a motion at its Nov. 10, 2025 meeting to grant a cabaret license to Ash Sports Bar LLC, contingent on the applicant submitting an amended application to city council.
Manager Parash Patel and an associate answered committee questions about management, security staffing and entertainment. Committee members noted that the location has 13 parking spaces but a posted occupancy of 87 and expressed concerns the shortfall would push parking onto neighborhood streets. A member said the shortage would “be a burden to the neighborhood” and another attached concern about past problems in nearby Uptown.
Committee members also discussed security personnel identification (shirt colors and radio communications) and the hours of entertainment. A motion to approve the license was made with the proviso that an amended application be submitted to city council so council members could review precise cabaret hours and application changes. The chair voted aye and the motion passed at the committee level.
The approval is conditional on the amended application being accepted at city council; the committee advised the applicant to file the corrected application before council review.
