Middletown council approves enrollment in county alert system, IT wiring work and EMS loan collateral

Middletown Town Council members on April 3 approved three administrative measures intended to support public safety, building maintenance and EMS financing.

Council Member Dave Wagner moved to authorize the Town Marshal to sign Middletown up for the county's NIXLE text-alert program to deliver police notices to residents; Gary Kendall seconded and the motion passed unanimously. The council did not record individual roll-call statements in the minutes, and the motion was recorded as passing unanimously.

Wagner also moved to authorize Scott's Computers to remove old computer wiring from the municipal building attic for a cost of up to $2,000; Kendall seconded and the council approved the expenditure unanimously.

Town Council President Jake Smith moved to authorize the Middletown Fall Creek Township EMS to use a 2017 Ford F-450 ambulance, VIN 1FDUF4HT6HDA06309, as collateral for First Merchants Bank loan number 3466817 and to authorize Clerk-Treasurer Drew Cooper to sign any documents required by the bank to verify the authorization. Gary Kendall seconded; the motion passed unanimously.

The approvals are recorded in the council minutes as routine administrative actions. No votes were recorded as opposed or abstaining in the minutes.
