City Manager Sarah Campbell introduces background, encourages youth engagement

Sarah Campbell, the incoming city manager, attended the Youth Advisory Committee meeting on Dec. 11 and introduced herself to members.
"I've never had a youth council before. I'm excited," Campbell said, describing her previous work in Orange Park and her 16 years in local government, including seven years as a city manager. She told the committee she has run youth engagement activities before, including classroom visits, mock councils and civic-education sessions.
Staff member (S2) introduced Campbell and said she would be available to attend future meetings and to help connect the committee with other city staff and community partners. Campbell suggested programs that bring students into civic processes and said she looked forward to working with the committee to develop engagement opportunities.
Committee members welcomed Campbell and discussed past successful events produced with Parks and Recreation and local partners. Staff member (S2) said they would connect committee members with a community-service officer to explore sponsorship and partnership possibilities for future events.
The meeting did not result in formal directives from the city manager; Campbell's appearance was presented as an introductory visit and an offer of support. The committee will continue planning its trivia-night fundraiser and other outreach, and staff and members said they expect to coordinate further with Campbell and department staff.
