POLYTECH Adult Education reports graduations, enrollments and continued grant support

Dr. Elizabeth Jones reported the district's Adult Education programs showed strong completion and enrollment figures at the July 8 Board meeting.
James H. Groves Adult High School held graduation on June 25, 2025, with 63 graduates aged 17 to 63; ten students graduated with honors and three student speakers shared personal journeys. The practical nursing program held pinning and graduation on June 24 for 36 students who are completing final preparations for NCLEX-PN testing; many already have job offers and job searches will continue. Career Training graduation on June 26 awarded certificates to 52 students in programs including Medical Assisting, Phlebotomy, CNA, Electromechanical Technician, and CDL-A; graduates are in the placement process.
Dr. Jones said the Summer 2025 ESL/Family Literacy program began with 62 adult participants and 36 children in preschool and school-aged readiness activities. She noted continuing funding support from the U.S. Department of Labor for the daytime Electromechanical program and from Boeing Corporation for the Aircraft Maintenance program, and said the district's "Earn While You Learn" model remains popular with adult learners.
Dr. Jones listed upcoming dates related to Adult Education programming and staff training; no formal Board action was required on these program reports.
