Silver Creek Township Planning and Zoning approves agenda, minutes and three property requests

At its Oct. 1 meeting the Silver Creek Planning and Zoning board approved the meeting agenda and Sept. 3 minutes (with one abstention), and approved rezoning or conditional-use requests from Robin Brisse, Ryan Nelson and Marilyn Henningson; several abstentions were recorded for conflicts of interest.
The Silver Creek Township Planning and Zoning board met Oct. 1, 2024, and took a series of routine procedural and land‑use votes, approving the agenda, past minutes and three property requests.
Brandon Geyen moved to approve the meeting agenda; Mark Egge seconded and the board adopted the agenda by an 8-0 vote.
The board then moved to approve the minutes of its Sept. 3 meeting. Ryan Nelson moved to approve the minutes; Tom Vanek seconded. Mark Egge abstained from that vote because he had been absent from the Sept. 3 meeting. The minutes were approved, carried 7-0.
Under new business the panel considered three property items. A rezoning request from Robin Brisse was approved as presented, provided there are three separate parcel IDs (PIDs); Jesse Dickenson moved to approve and Ryan Nelson seconded. Mark Egge abstained from the Brisse vote because he lives on the lake. A separate rezoning request affecting a 2.31-acre portion of Ryan Nelson’s property was approved after Brandon Geyen moved and Mark Egge seconded; Nelson abstained from the vote on his own application. Finally, Marilyn Henningson’s request for a conditional‑use permit to create a one‑lot unplatted subdivision was approved with the same motions and an abstention from Nelson.
These approvals carried by recorded tallies of 7-0 in each instance where abstentions were noted for conflicts or absences. The meeting later considered a separate interim‑use permit application (Big Rig Companies) and then adjourned.
