After a roughly 45-minute executive session on personnel matters at its June 16 meeting, the City of Ocilla Council voted to terminate Director Corneilus Hall, the streets director, effective immediately. Council Member Patrice Manley moved for termination; Mayor Pro Tem Chris Paulk seconded the motion, and the council voted unanimously in favor.
Council members did not place further personnel details on the public record during the meeting. The executive session was called specifically to discuss personnel, and the council returned to open session before moving on to the termination motion.
In the same meeting, the council also moved to fill an operational gap: Council Member Patrice Manley nominated and the council appointed Utilities Director Bruce Wilder to oversee the Sanitation Department. Council Member Lisa Cook seconded the motion, and the appointment passed 5–0. The council did not detail an interim plan for the streets director role beyond the termination itself.
The council recorded its votes in the meeting minutes and adjourned after completing the agenda. The council did not add further public description of the personnel discussion beyond the motions and votes taken.
