Ocilla council reappoints library trustee and names three to Revolving Loan Fund committee

Ocilla City Council on Aug. 18 approved a reappointment to the Irwin County Library Board of Trustees and filled three seats on the Revolving Loan Fund Committee, the council's minutes show.
The moves came under the meeting's new-business agenda. Council Member Patrice Manley moved to reappoint Helen Moses to the Irwin County Library Board of Trustees; Council Member Clae Wynn seconded the motion, which passed with votes recorded from Manley, Wynn, Lemora Moses, Lisa Cook and Mayor Pro Tem Chris Paulk.
Nominations for the Revolving Loan Fund Committee were also made. Mayor Pro Tem Chris Paulk nominated Shannon Vickers, and Mayor Melvin D. Harper II nominated Maurice Lake and Lemond Hall. Council Member Clae Wynn moved to appoint Vickers, Lake and Hall; Council Member Lemora Moses seconded and the motion passed with the five council members voting in favor.
The council opened the meeting with routine procedural actions: Mayor Pro Tem Chris Paulk moved to relax the agenda and, later, motions to approve workshop and special-called meeting minutes from July 17, 2025 carried by recorded votes of the five council members present.
