Chair K. Barber called the meeting to order at 3:30 p.m. and committee members K. Vane, H. Raposo and J. Jencks and administrators S. Keating and C. Sheldon were listed as present. The committee’s review focused on the Student Records policy; the transcript records that the policy was amended and that committee members agreed it should be brought to the full Board for formal consideration.
The minutes record that several other policies were reviewed for whether they required action but were not advanced. Specifically, LCS Policy 1112 (News Media Relationship), CABE Policy 1112.6 (Digital Recording and Media of Students/Staff), CABE Policy 1110 (Distribution of Material), and CABE Policy 9327.12 (Social Media Etiquette) were noted as not needing to move forward at this time.
The committee noted next steps for ongoing policy review are to be determined. The next Policy Committee meeting was scheduled for Monday, August 17, 2026, at 3:30 p.m. The meeting adjourned at 4:11 p.m.
The committee’s recommendation to forward the amended Student Records policy to the full Board is a referral for formal action; the Board of Education will need to vote to adopt or modify the recommended language when the item is placed on a future agenda.
