Garland Planning Commission elects officers, sets 2026 quarterly meeting dates

Commissioners listed as present at roll call were Ryon Adams, Dave Burton, Lukas Joe, Nate Longacre and Diane Regnier. Adams proposed giving the public one week’s notice of agendas for subsequent meetings; the commission agreed to hold meetings on April 21, July 21 and Oct. 20, all at 7 p.m.
Lukas Joe was elected secretary after a motion by Diane Regnier and a second by Nate Longacre; the vote was recorded as unanimous. Ryon Adams was elected chair in a motion by Joe, seconded by Regnier, also recorded unanimous. The commission then moved, on a motion by Joe and seconded by Longacre, to appoint a clerk to record minutes for the meeting; that motion was approved unanimously.
The actions finalize officer roles for the commission’s 2026 calendar and place on record the commission’s agreement to a standardized meeting schedule. No substantive zoning decisions were made during these procedural votes. The commission adjourned at 7:57 p.m.
