At 11:09 a.m. on Jan. 26, Chairman Cory Wright recessed the Kittitas County Board of Commissioners into an executive session to evaluate the qualifications of an applicant for public employment or to review the performance of a public employee under RCW 42.30.110(g). Attendees in the session included HR Director Jeanne Killgore, IT Director Doug Fessler, Assistant IT Director Zane Kinney and Infrastructure Manager Bill Davis.
The announcement to enter executive session referenced RCW 42.30.140(4) to remind the board that discussion of salaries, wages and other employment conditions to be generally applied must occur in an open meeting and that final actions on hiring or setting salaries must be taken publicly. The board initially set the executive session for 10 minutes, extended it by five minutes and reconvened at 11:24 a.m. No formal action or vote was taken following the session.
