Board grants time extension for lot-line adjustment, accepts school athletic renovation plans; sewer and public-works updates tabled for August

Longswamp Township’s board granted a time extension and accepted several engineering updates during its July 9 meeting, while postponing final decisions on some sewer and public-works items.
The board granted the developer’s request to extend the review period for the 330 W. Weis Street lot-line adjustment until Aug. 31, 2024. Supervisors also voted to accept final plans for recording for the Brandywine Heights Area School District athletic renovation, contingent on the developer satisfactorily addressing comments in Hanover Engineering’s May 13, 2024 review letter.
Township Engineer Jill Smith reported ongoing work on the Act 537 sewage plan, including site evaluations and task reports; she said she will provide an additional update at the August board meeting. Smith also presented preliminary survey work and said she will circulate a concept layout for the proposed municipal maintenance building addition before the next meeting. Smith noted she had prepared a plan for the Walker Road water matter and will review it with Township Roadmaster Scott Miller.
Several items, including the Locust Street turnaround project and by-law updates for the Park & Recreation Board, were discussed but tabled for future meetings. The board did not approve any construction or capital spending decisions at this meeting; the accepted school plans will be recorded after required engineering comments are addressed.
