Longswamp supervisors approve June and corrected May financial reports, release fire and EMS disbursements

Longswamp Township Vice-Chairman Mark Hilbert and Supervisor Mike Sacks approved corrected May and the June 2024 Treasurer’s Reports at the board’s July 9 meeting, citing totals of $4,240,051.22 (May, corrected) and $4,319,422.96 (June). The approvals were made "subject to further audit," the minutes state.
The board also authorized bills for payment totaling $113,187.35 and fund transfers totaling $31,306.15 for the June 12–July 9 accounting period; a roll-call vote recorded both supervisors as voting yes. In a separate motion, the board approved partial 2024 and remaining 2023 tax disbursements under current Letters of Understanding, releasing $154,301.20 to the Topton Volunteer Fire Company and $72,034.21 to the Topton Community Ambulance.
Secretary/Treasurer Joni McPike presented the reports and noted the motions carried "subject to further audit." The meeting record shows the board tabled verification of June 2024 monthly bank reconciliations for later review.
The financial approvals were routine municipal business and will appear in the official minutes and the township’s audited financial records once the audit is complete. The board did not discuss changes to tax rates or long-term fiscal policy at the meeting.
