Centerville police present food-box delivery plan, software upgrades and case updates

The Centerville Police representative (S3) told the Town Council on Nov. 10 that the department will run its annual food-box packing on Nov. 14 with deliveries scheduled for Nov. 18 and, if needed, Nov. 20, and asked for volunteer help from council and community members.
S3 also described outreach and community-support activities planned for December, including a Dec. 13 shopping event to take local children shopping, coordinated with schools for participation and aimed at keeping benefits local.
On enforcement, S3 reported five investigations during the reporting period, saying two were cleared without enforcement and three were closed with enforcement actions; S3 also noted a small set of citations totaling $116 for six juvenile-related incidents.
Operationally, S3 said the state will change its reporting systems to a program referred to in the transcript as 'JIRIS' and that the department plans to switch its station records and medical reporting software to ESO to improve immediate access to information and support.
S3 invited volunteers for preparation and delivery nights and provided estimated departure times from the police department for deliveries. Council members asked clarifying questions about scheduling and resources; no formal council action was taken on policing programs during the meeting.
