Gray Main Street schedules Galentine's event, faces receptionist vacancy and prepares accreditation presentation

Main Street Director Ashley Roberson told council that Main Street will kick off the year with a Galentine's event on Feb. 7 and that the city will add a request to the February council agenda to allow public consumption of alcohol at that event.
Roberson said the reception desk at the Gray/Jones Business Development Office is vacant after the receptionist submitted a two-week notice and the office is accepting resumes. She also reported that Main Street submitted accreditation materials to Georgia Main Street and Main Street America on Jan. 15 and that she will present to Georgia Main Street in February as part of routine three-year accreditation requirements.
No council action to approve alcohol at the Galentine's event or to fill the receptionist position was recorded in the minutes; both were described as items to be addressed at upcoming meetings.
