City Superintendent reports test-well results pending; council consensus to sell property if wells aren’t sufficient

City Superintendent Cheyenne Morgan told the all-committees meeting that a geologist has visited the site but the written report for test well #120 had not been received as of Feb. 17, 2026. Morgan also said he did not believe it would be feasible to put test well #119 online and asked to review the data again before a final determination.
Morgan reported that the wells have produced enough water to supply a single-family home but not necessarily municipal demand. Based on those findings, the mayor and council reached a consensus that the city should sell the property if the wells do not produce enough water to benefit the city. City Attorney John Newberry said he will wait to hear further information from Morgan before contacting a broker.
