The Shorewood City Council on Jan. 27 adopted several consent resolutions and approved a residential setback variance, according to the meeting minutes.
The council adopted RESOLUTION NO. 25-016 approving Hennepin County’s 2024 Hazard Mitigation Plan and RESOLUTION NO. 25-017 providing consent for Hennepin County to register certain cannabis businesses and to perform compliance checks under Minnesota Statutes Section 342.22. Mayor Labadie reviewed the consent agenda before the council voted to approve the motions and adopt the resolutions after removing one item for separate discussion.
Planning Director Darling reviewed a variance request for property at 6040 Cajed Lane requesting relief for a portico over the front entry. Darling said staff and the Planning Commission recommended approval; applicant Eric Magistad described the project as a “small, modest, innocuous project.” The council adopted RESOLUTION NO. 25-018 approving the variance.
Other consent items recorded in the minutes included approval of the Jan. 13 meeting minutes, the verified claims list, a permanent appointment for the finance director and a professional services agreement with Campbell Knutson. One consent item (the Davey Resource Group agreement renewal) was removed from the consent agenda and considered later as general business.
