Lake Park council orders stop‑ahead signs, adopts 2026 calendars and sets budget hearing

Lake Park — At its Dec. 2, 2025 meeting the Lake Park City Council approved several administrative and procurement items, including a unanimous vote to purchase eight 18" x 30" reflective stop‑ahead signs at $73.25 each and adoption of the 2026 Regular Council meeting calendar, annual holiday calendar and municipal court calendar.

Council Member Michelle Lane moved to order the signs; Council Member Oscar Griffith seconded and the motion carried 4-0. The council also adopted the calendars on a unanimous vote after a motion by Council Member Oscar Griffith and a second from Council Member Zach Fletcher.

City Clerk Lisa Johnson presented the FY2026 proposed budget and scheduled a public hearing for Dec. 11, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall and a planned budget adoption meeting on Dec. 18, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. The council reported it had received one responsible audit proposal and would wait until the Dec. 18 meeting for additional proposals before making an award.

Other administrative items discussed included consideration of time‑clock systems and whether access control and time keeping could share the same RFID frequency; the council postponed final selection pending verification. Staff also presented options for an on‑site industrial shredder or smaller shredders to support records digitization.

The signage purchase and calendar adoptions were recorded in the meeting minutes as unanimous votes, 4-0. No new funding sources or contract-award language was recorded in the minutes for these items.
